Custom Storage Solution for Bemidji Ambulance Service

When Bemidji Ambulance Service contacted us about needing a solution to store a critical piece of their equipment - we answered.

Ambulance services are supplied with specialized equipment that serve each person during a time of need. All equipment must hold up to day-to-day use and be accessible at a moment's notice during an emergency.

The motorized stair chair equipped on this ambulance has the capability of transporting patients up and down stairs with ease. When not in use, it was previously stored in a location attached to the side door. But, over time the metal holding rack has been damaged from the weight and repeated use.

To also achieve the maximum amount of space for entering and exiting through this door, the holding rack will be removed to create a clear pathway.

The decision was made to relocate to an exterior rear storage area. Installing within the new compact area will save space and by incorporating a sliding feature will allow operators quick and easy access to the equipment.

The design is finalized and fabrication begins. Laser cut from 3/16" aluminum, the construction of the new sliding carrier will be durable and lightweight. By custom bending and welding together, we turned the flat metal components into a functional 3D piece of equipment.

Heavy duty sliders are installed on the bottom and the unit is being tested for the final placement.

The new stair chair carrier with sliding access will enhance the operation for the employees allowing them to work quickly in situations where every second matters. Thank you to Bemidji Ambulance Service for providing incredible services for our local communities.
